A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to nonexistent email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss emails because the other party has an out-of-date email address or has made a spelling mistake. The drawback of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of junk messages, but this issue can be rectified using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also essential to keep in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound messages to a 3rd-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting

Configuring a catch-all mailbox will be extremely easy if you have a Linux shared web hosting with us. You can activate this feature through our advanced, albeit simple-to-work-with Email Manager tool, which is an integral part of the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you’ll manage the shared web hosting account itself. You’ll see all the email addresses that you have created listed alphabetically and on the right side of each one of them there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously inform you whether a specific mailbox stores all the emails associated with a given domain name or not. With one single mouse click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this option whenever you like. In case there is activated email forwarding or if some other mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a given domain, you will receive a warning notice from our system. The latter will not replace/disable anything automatically and without your approval.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all functionality can be activated easily if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you have created using the domains hosted in your account will be shown in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll notice a mini logo handily located right next to each of them. With only a click of the mouse, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice as long as there isn't another mailbox under the same domain name with the option already activated and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and activate this option using the menu that will come into sight. If any of the preconditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not met, our system will let you know, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
